Spectra Systems Corp (SPSY.L) is a leader in machine-readable high speed banknote authentication, brand protection technologies, security printing and gaming security software. Spectra provides integrated solutions comprised of engineered materials for authentication and hardware and software systems which verify the unique signatures of the authentication materials. Through a series of strategic supply and licensing agreements with governmental, institutional and corporate partners, it has become an industry leader in the currency and document authentication markets, and one of the world’s leading suppliers of high-speed currency authentication sensors. It has also developed the world’s first polymer substrate (Fusion) to contain level III covert security features, the first banknote cleaning (Aeris) and disinfecting (BDS-1000) systems. Spectra’s solutions are also used for authenticating and tracking well-established consumer branded products such as energy drinks, shampoo, wine, spirits, and tobacco. Finally, Spectra’s security software provides secure Internal Control Systems to U.S. and international lotteries.

Through the acquisition of Cartor Security Printers (December 2023), Spectra Systems produces finished postage stamps, excise stamps, ID cards, and secure documents through their innovative conversion of security paper, polymer substrates, inks, and advanced optical materials. Cartor’s unique capabilities enables Spectra Systems to deliver a full range of solutions from individual security components to finished, high security printed products.
